The road to Chamonix is one of the most direct in the Alps — motorway nearly the whole way, with Mont Blanc growing larger in the windscreen. Seventy minutes after leaving the terminal, you are in the valley: Chamonix centre, Les Houches, Argentière or Vallorcine, as you prefer.
Mountaineering bags, bikes, paragliders — the valley attracts equipment-heavy travellers and our cars are sized for it. For dawn starts toward the Aiguille du Midi cable car, night and early-morning pick-ups cost nothing extra.
